|Ronald Moon, Jr. DO, FAADEP
Originally from Oahu, Hawaii, Dr. Ronald Moon graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington. He subsequently completed medical school at The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth where he graduated with honors. He completed his internship at Northeast Community Hospital in Bedford, Texas, serving as the Chief Intern. He completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Spain Rehabilitation Center at The University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he served as the Chief Resident.
Dr. Moon is Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Disability Evaluating Physicians (AADEP) and was the first in the State of Alabama to receive the National Board Certification in the Evaluation of Disability and Impairment Ratings (CEDIR) by AADEP. This national certification was earned by successfully passing an exam dealing with specialized issues in Disability and Impairment. This certification is also the first and only of its kind. Dr. Moon has been a member of the AADEP for 17 years and as such is uniquely qualified in Disability Medicine and managing complex neuromusculoskeletal disorders. He is also certified in the Interpretation of Functional Capacity Evaluations. These are valuable tools in setting the Standards for Physicians who manage work related claims in the State of Alabama.
Dr. Moon is also a member of the American Medical Association (AMA), American Osteopathic Association (AOA), American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPMR), Alabama Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Medical Association of the State of Alabama (MASA), American Medical Infrared Academy (AMIA), and American Academy of Thermology.
Dr. Moon has recently become a Fellow of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. As an Osteopathic Physician, Dr. Moon’s holistic approach to patient care is being enhanced by this progressive movement in Healthcare. “Interventional endocrinology, also known as Anti-Aging, Rejuvenative and Functional Medicine, is the wave of the future,” says Dr. Moon, who appreciates the body’s innate mechanisms of healing itself.
